WED: Jerry Nadler Slides into Mueller’s DMs + Will He “Impeach?”

I have been getting the meat sweats thinking about this market:

Let me begin with the facts. It is basically science that Mueller’s hearings at the House Judiciary and Intel Committees will be the most boring thing Congress has ever done, except for maybe that time that Sen. Ted Cruz read Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor during a filibuster.

This is due to the fact that Bob Mueller has been a massive stick in the mud about coming to the Hill to testify. I seriously think he is just going to roll-in in sweat pants and sit behind a stack of Mueller Report pages that he will quote from directly to answer questions, and maybe give some side-eye to his aide whenever Jerry Nadler and Maxine Waters start to drool at the thought of a little impeachment porn. Mueller basically told Congress straight-up that he had nothing to say about the report and that it was a piece of art that stands on its own.

If you think I am exaggerating then actually read what he said:

“It is important that the office’s written work speak for itself… We concluded that we would not reach a determination – one way or the other – about whether the President committed a crime. That is the office’s final position and we will not comment on any other conclusions or hypotheticals about the President.”

What an artist.

Obviously, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) and all the other savages on the Democratic side want to probe Mueller on the whole “Is Trump a Criminal” part as much as possible, which is probably why Big Bad Bob has skipped two hearing dates so far. Mueller is not a dummy and definitely knows that Rep. Nadler is hoping to score a real zinger from his testimony. Basically, we are looking at two divas with competing agendas here. On Mueller’s side, he just wants everyone to take his art seriously. On Nadler’s side, he is hoping to use Mueller’s testimony to score an anti-Trump soundbite that he can use as the Congressional equivalent of a double-decker bus with “1-800-IMPEACH-45” painted on the side.

For those of you who want a more legal explanation, I think it works out to this: Jerry Nadler has basically just been pursuing Mueller like a frat boy who is trying to smash; but Mueller has been playing hard to get until he knows that Jerr-Bear’s intentions are good. Mueller has obviously been texting with Nadler to feel him out and has been making it extremely clear that he is not going to give it up on their first date without a strong commitment. That commitment is of course, what their lawyers have been negotiating — what questions Mueller will answer — none of which will include impeachment due to the fact that, once again, Mueller said:

“We concluded that we would not reach a determination – one way or the other – about whether the President committed a crime. That is the office’s final position and we will not comment on any other conclusions or hypotheticals about the President.”

My prediction? I think Mueller sits down with Nadler and his fratboy Judiciary Committee friends who don’t know how to treat a girl right. They will probe him for dirt on his ex (Trump) and will have a hard time taking “no” for an answer when Mueller won’t give it up. Even though Nadler will be hoping to score some impeachment dirt, I get the feeling that at the leadership level of the Democratic Caucus, there is an understanding that this topic is off-limits due to the fact that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are much more interested in winning elections than winning Twitter. So if anyone brings impeachment up, it’ll be some hotrod on the back bench who is bummed that AOC, Rep. Ilhan Omar and the Progressive Plastics haven’t invited him/her onto The Squad yet.

Tbh I just think that all the off-script, whacko stuff in Washington tends to happen off the playing field. Even Trump keeps his act together during official appearances.

Lastly, I talked to some well-placed sources in the GOP and they told me that no one is prepping for a conversation about impeachment. However, my track record with hot tips from Congressional Republicans is the same as their track record of repealing Obamacare and/or reducing spending while having control over every branch of government (0-for-life). But whatever, you don’t become the type of alpha I am by playing it safe. I am going in hot on this.
