Does Kamala Harris Matter?
One of the subjects that people have been chirping about the most lately has been Joe Biden’s VP pick, which we now know is Sen. Kamala Harris (CA). The talking heads in the Fake News Media (FNM) have been acting like this pick was a monstrously big deal for months. They have been slinging arguments back and forth about whether or not it was a good idea for Uncle Joe to pick a woke bandit/partisan battle axe like Kamala Harris; or perhaps a compromise candidate like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN); or maybe even a young and energetic bro for him to rip some beers with, like Sen. Cory Booker (NJ).
But one of the great things about betting on politics is that instead of being a total bonehead who lets his brain rot on fake news, you get woke to information that is actually relevant. By definition, this type of information is usually ignored by journalists. For example, check out this take from Rainbow Jeremy, who heavy-duty bettors will recognize as one of the biggest players in the political gambling game. It’s from the end of July:
So the question asked is: does the VP selection matter in 2020?
So, I pulled some prices from PredictIt to see if Kamala’s addition to the Biden ticket has made any difference at all. I checked the change in prices from Aug 9 to Aug 15, in the states that are looking the most competitive this cycle. This is what I found:

So, let me briefly summarize my findings:
- Nothing matters in this election
- No one cares about Kamala Harris
- All anyone cares about is Trump. Do you like him or not?
Honestly, I am pretty sure that Joe Biden could have nominated one of the dogs from Homeward Bound to be his running mate and it wouldn’t have mattered. Nothing actually matters. As with every other question since 2016, the only meaningful input seems to be: where do you stand on Trump?
