Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who basically spent all of 2021 as Mitch McConnell’s prison b*tch, is sacking-up big time to pass a giant voting rights bill and also eliminate the Senate filibuster. This is due to the fact that:
- Many Republican governors are on the Democrats’ naughty list for passing questionable election reforms in 2021;
- Democrats believe these Republicans are engaging in voter suppression; but
- There aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to pass a federal election reform bill to stop them; so…
- In order to preserve minority rights in elections, it is very important to eliminate them in Congress (the filibuster).
Get it?
IDK, fam. We report, you decide.
But let’s not lose the thread. This is a big move for Sen. Schumer. Any time a Majority Leader takes a big swing using arcane parliamentary tactics, we applaud. It’s part of getting your wings.
